How it works
negotimer registers itself with Windows as a camera. To your meeting app it looks like any other camera, so you can pick it in Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams as usual.
Even in meeting apps that allow only one shared screen, your slides and the timer both stay visible. The timer never gets hidden behind a slide.
The tile changes colour as time runs down, so it works even without sound. You can also send the cue sounds into the meeting (see below). No feedback loops.
Pitch time, question mode, changeover — the same settings as the iPhone and Android versions, working the same way.

Please read this before downloading. During installation, a blue screen saying “Windows protected your PC” will appear.
negotimer is not signed with a code-signing certificate. Certificates cost a yearly fee, and for a small app we chose to spend that on features instead. Windows shows this screen for any app without a signature.

Registering the timer with Windows as a “camera” requires a system-level entry, which only an administrator can make. It is removed cleanly when you uninstall.

How to use it
Set the pitch time, question mode, number of questioners and changeover time, then save. Keep one ready for each kind of event.
negotimer (Windows Virtual Camera) appears in Windows’ list of cameras. “Windows Virtual Camera” is a label Windows adds automatically and cannot be removed.
The timer isn’t running yet at this point. It just shows a waiting screen.
Enter the meeting code in negotimer and press “Send the timer in”. A dedicated browser window opens, and the timer joins the meeting as a guest.
You can control the timer from negotimer while looking at the meeting window. Pause if someone keeps talking; skip ahead if they finish early.

Even without sound, the tile’s colour tells everyone how long is left. You can also send the cue sounds into the meeting (see below).
About sound
The cues — ten seconds left, 3-2-1, and time up — play through your own speakers, as before. Whether the other participants hear them is up to you.
The tile turns green → yellow → red, so the time left gets across even without sound. If you change nothing, the cues play only on your PC.
Install a virtual audio device (such as VB-CABLE) on this PC, and you can send the cues into the meeting. In negotimer, choose it under Settings → Cue sound output, and pick its other end as the microphone in the timer window.
Meeting apps strip out sounds that are not human speech. Google Meet’s “Studio sound”, for example, says it removes sounds other than conversation, and beeps barely survive. So negotimer sends spoken cues to the meeting.

The 3-2-1 countdown isn’t sent because, for the other participants, it would just be noise. The host still hears it locally as before. The spoken cues are in English when the app is set to English.

Recording (Pro, one-time purchase)
Online, your microphone only picks up your own voice. Other people’s voices just go out through your speakers and never reach the mic. negotimer records that playback as well, so the whole conversation is kept.
Your voice and the meeting audio are mixed and saved together. Hand the file to a generative AI to draft minutes or a summary.
A new file starts at each round, so you can tell whose turn it was.
Nothing is sent to our servers. Sharing and deleting are entirely up to you.
Open Settings → “Upgrade to Pro” in the app and the payment page opens in your browser (Stripe). Cards, Apple Pay and Link are accepted. The price is ¥1,000, charged in Japanese yen — your card provider converts it to your currency. No subscription.
After payment, your license key is sent automatically. Paste it into “Enter your license key” on the same screen and press “Activate” — recording works straight away.
Checking the key needs no internet connection (only receiving it does), so it works offline too. When you move to a new PC, enter the same key again.
You will be recording what other people say. Before recording, tell every participant that you are recording and get their agreement. negotimer does not do this for you.
Also note that the recording follows your speaker volume. If the volume is turned down, the other side is recorded quietly too; if it’s muted, they aren’t recorded at all. Keep your usual volume during the meeting.

Store app packages can’t use the mechanism that registers an app as a camera. It’s a technical limitation, not a policy choice.
